  • Is there Wi-Fi?

    Yes. High speed Fios wifi is available free of charge at the studio. Login credentials are listed in the studio.

  • Who is the in house photographer and how do I book them?

    Our in house photographer is Stefan Klapko. In addition to the work on our Instagram you can view more of Stefan’s work at www.stefanklapko.com - Stefan has been shooting professionally for 10+ years with clients such as Nike, Footlocker, Spotify, and Uber to name a few. He specializes in portraiture, fashion, and lifestyle, and is very well versed in a wide variety of genres including e-comm, product, and more. If you are looking for genre specific portfolios, we can provide examples to you directly.

    To book Stefan you can email us at info@kanopy.nyc with your shoot details and we can provide you a quote. An invoice and private booking link will be generated for you.

  • What color backdrops do you have?

    We have a wide range of color rolls available. We will inquire after your booking to give you an up to date photo and list of options. Black, white and gray will always be available. Speciality colors and can be requested and ordered for an additional fee.

  • Is parking available?

    Free street parking is available, but limited Monday - Friday before 6pm. There is metered parking on nearby commercial streets, an outdoor lot on 23rd Street, and a garage on Crescent street.

  • What’s the nearest train station?

    Court Square station is 1.5 blocks from our doorstep. The E, M, G, and 7 stop here. 3 blocks away is Queensboro Plaza for the N and W trains. The F and R trains are both around 6 blocks away as well.

  • What if I need to extend my time?

    If your production is running over time it may be possible for you to extend your time. You can call or text us at the number provided from your booking to let us know, and we will provide you an invoice for the extra hours.

  • How many people are allowed in the space and can I book it for an event?

    At the current time a maximum of 10 guests are allowed in the space, and therefore it is not suitable for large events.

  • Are food and/or alcohol allowed?

    Food is allowed, and guests over 21 may consume alcohol. Please dispose of all trash and recyclables after your shoot. There is a trash receptacle down the hallway next to the freight elevator.

  • Is there a changing area/restroom?

    There are restrooms with stalls directly across the hall from the studio space. There is also a pop up changing tent.

  • Is there a sink?

    There are two industrial sized sinks in the hallways next to the freight elevator.

  • What is your Cancellation Policy?

    **All bookings are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please understand, your booking blocks out a specific date and time frame that is no longer available to any other client. As an appointment based business, we do not accept cancellations for any reason.

    **Reschedules may be possible with more than 5 days notice from booking time, and are subject to availability on the newly requested date. Reschedules between between 5-3 days notice of booking time are subject to a $50 fee, and reschedules with less than 3 days notice are subject to a $100 fee.

  • Is there security cameras in the studio?

    Yes, we have one security camera in the far left corner of the studio. Your privacy is important to us. The camera is accessed for emergency/liability purposes only. The building also has security cameras in the hallways, elevators, and staircases.
